- IATA 124th Schedules Conference,
- 18-21st June 2009,
- Le Centre Sheraton, Montreal, Canada.
At this exhibition Decisal presented several new features of its novel product: SchedulAir.
SchedulAir provides a unique, powerful solution for airline scheduling. It is the only one in the marketplace to finally unify the optimization of these scheduling stages:
- fleet assignment,
- aircraft maintenance routing (rotation),
- crew scheduling (pairing).
Existing scheduling technologies only achieve "sequential integration", where the output of one stage is the input of the next. They therefore optimize each stage independently, one after the other, resulting in an overall suboptimal schedule.
Leslie Jamieson, responsible for Decisal's business development says "The unique algorithm behind the optimization engine at the heart of SchedulAir breaks the mould of the existing sequential solutions available to the airline industry. Airlines can finally achieve unified optimization of the major components of any airline schedule, while ensuring schedule robustness. No other application in the market can do this."
In comparison with current "sequential integration" solutions, SchedulAir's unified optimization enables airlines to reduce:
- scheduling costs by up to $150 per flight,
- delays and associated costs,
- scheduling work-cycle.
SchedulAir produces robust schedules by accounting for expected flight delays and reducing their overall impact.
SchedulAir is customizable to a client's individual scheduling requirements and the standards and rules in operation. A bureau service can also be provided to investigate specific scenarios or future schedule planning.
At the core of the SchedulAir solution is a complex mathematical algorithm invented at Imperial College London and fully owned by Decisal. The technology behind SchedulAir is currently Patent Pending.
